Coach Dan Lovelace is in his 1st year as an assistant coach for the Francis Howell Vikings.    He brings with him more than 30 years of coaching experience.  His resume includes head coaching stints at MICDS and Parkway North high schools, as well as assistant coach experience on staff at DeSmet Jesuit.  Some of his head coaching accomplishments include developing 8 individual State Champions, 41 Individual State medalists, over 130 Individual State Qualifiers, 6 Team District Titles, 6 top-ten team finishes, a second-place team finish, and an overall dual meet record of 117-55-1.  Coach Dan has also earned four St. Louis Officials "Coach of the Year" nods, the 1998 MWA "Coach of the Year" and is a member of the MICDS Hall of Fame Class of 2010.          

Lovelace is a 1984 graduate of Parkway West High School.  A two-time Missouri State medalist, Dan place 3rd as a Junior, and was crowned a State Champion in his senior season.  After high school, he wrestled for the University of Missouri Tigers where he was a three-time Letterman, and three-time NCAA DI national qualifier for the Tigers.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management degree in 1988.  

Coach Lovelace has a son, Eric, who is a senior and returning State medalist on the Howell team this season.
