AAU & USA Tournament Information

Junior Vikings AAU & USA Wrestling Options
 

The Junior Vikings wrestling program is chartered with two sanctioning bodies here in Missouri. Amateur Athletic Union Wrestling (AAU) & USA Wrestling. Each of these organizations sanction wrestling clubs and wrestling tournaments.

1. Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Wrestling: The Junior Vikings registration fee includes the cost of an AAU membership. The majority of tournaments that the Junior Vikings participate in are these AAU tournaments. The AAU has a strong local presence in the St. Louis area. Included on the AAU calendar are the Ozark Championships, Missouri National Challenge, and Ozark AAU State Tournament. These are large tournaments with great competition. It is possible to wrestle only AAU events and have a full season with strong competition.

2. USA Wrestling is the predominant sanctioning organization outside the St. Louis area. Wrestlers who wish to compete against others from outside the St. Louis area, or who want to compete in the Missouri USA State Tournament series, may work with the Junior Vikings to purchase a USA Wrestling card. There are many USA Wrestling sanctioned tournaments that some of our wrestlers may wish to compete in, in addition to the AAU tournaments.
